OPERATION SUPERVISOR - (IBLTS) BEIRA, MOZAMBIQUE.

 

General

The Operations Supervisor is responsible to assist the Operations Manager ICD to oversee the daily operations of the yard and warehouse, ensuring that all activities are carried out efficiently and safely. This position is responsible for coordinating with Operations Controllers ICD and other supervisors to ensure the smooth flow of all operations and maintaining accurate inventory levels. The Operations Supervisor will report directly to the Operations Manager ICD (or Operations Manager Admin in his/her absence).

 

Duties & Responsibilities

The duties below do not exclude other tasks from being performed if the work is similar, related or a logical assignment to this job.

 

Outline of Duties & Responsibilities:

· Supervise and ensure that Operations controllers ICD complete warehouse/yard activities such as gate moves, traffic flow, bulk and bagged cargo offloading, stuffing and stripping of containers in a timely manner, and ensure they are performed safely and efficiently.

· Coordinate with Operations controllers ICD to ensure timely and accurate inventory management by conducting regular stock takes and updating the inventory system (EPMS).

· Ensure all yard and warehouse equipment is well maintained and operated according to HSES procedures.

· Supervise 3dr party companies such as stevadoring, client allocated agents, drivers and machine rental companies to ensure timely activities.

· Ensure there is compliance with all relevant health, safety, environmental, and security procedures.

· Train and supervise yard and warehouse personnel to ensure they are competent to carry out their assigned tasks.

· Maintain a safe and clean working environment by enforcing procedures, rules, and regulations.

· Report any incidents or accidents immediately to the HSE officer and or Management and take appropriate measures to prevent recurrence.

· Ensure that Operations controllers ICD adhere to company and client procedures/requirements such as cargo correctly labelled, handled, and stored accordingly.

· Manage Import/Export bookings to ensure deadlines are reached according to procedures.

· Coordinate with the Operations controllers ICD/Admin to plan the next day’s activities and ensure housekeeping is done to minimize idle time and maximize working efficiencies.

· Provide reports on yard and warehouse activities to the Operations managers ICD/Admin.

· Flag issues and make recommendations to management to ensure smooth operations.

· Other duties as assigned by the Operations managers ICD/Admin.

Hard Skills – Background / Technical Competences
